Health, Safety and the Environment (HSE) are integral to the Mission, Vision and Values at Alberta Envirofuels (AEF). Although the primary purpose of AEF’s business is to produce high-quality gasoline blending components, AEF’s owners insist that HSE be included in the Mission statement, to ensure the consideration of HSE in all AEF activities. One of the long-term goals or Vision is to achieve the Perfect Run, which means operating the facility without a plant trip or high potential incident. Additionally, one of the core Values is Caring which means positively impacting people, community and the environment.
There are 24 essential areas that AEF has to do well in order to achieve HSE excellence. At the center is Catalyst for Teamwork, which is intertwined and connected to all the other pieces.
