Emergency Response

Alberta Envirofuels Inc is fully prepared to manage all emergency situations. We need to be prepared for the unexpected so we can effectively manage emergency situations, minimize losses and continue operations. We have multiple teams within our Emergency Response Organization (see diagram below). Each ER team has a leader, and all employees at AEF are members of an ER team. AEF has a well-prepared and tested Emergency Response Plans (ERP) which enables the employees and contractors to respond rapidly/effectively to emergencies.

At AEF for Emergency Notification we have systems in place to notify on-site personnel, off-site resources, and public agencies about an emergency. We do scheduled technical training and mock simulation training to develop the competency of all the team members. Ongoing Practice/Training will philosophically improve behaviors and ensure competency. Training is consistent with other industrial facilities and mutual aid groups.

AEF is a member with the Strathcona District Mutual Assistance Program (SDMAP). AEF provides emergency response mutual assistance to our neighbors in coordination with Strathcona County Emergency Services. Although we are individually well prepared to handle emergencies within our own site, when a situation extends into or affects the surrounding community, members of the Strathcona District Mutual Assistance Program (SDMAP) work together to minimize the effect of the situation and efficiently control it.
